This is a courtesy translation of the Portuguese privacy policy. If the two versions differ, the Portuguese version prevails.
This page explains which personal data this website collects, what it is used for, where it is stored and how you can ask to access, correct or delete it. The party responsible for processing (the “controller” under Brazil’s LGPD, Law 13,709/2018) is Diogo Rapozo, private English teacher, reachable on WhatsApp at +55 24 99977-3224.
1. What data is collected
Depending on how you interact with the site, we may collect: name, email and WhatsApp number (when you request a sample class, take the placement test, sign the student agreement, or comment on the blog or on Graded Readers); activity answers, study progress and Notebook entries (if you are an enrolled student using the logged-in area); tax ID (CPF), ID number (RG) and address (only if you sign the digital service agreement, as such agreements require); and basic technical data such as IP address and browser, recorded automatically by the site’s infrastructure.
2. What the data is used for
To enrol you and give you access to the student area; to deliver and correct activities; to contact you about classes, groups or questions; to generate and keep evidence that you accepted the service agreement; and, for blog comments, to display your name and comment publicly after manual approval (your email is never shown publicly and is only used internally for contact if needed).
3. Where the data is stored
The data is stored on Supabase (a cloud database, United States region) and, for the older student registration, in Google Sheets via Google Apps Script. This means some data is processed outside Brazil. This is a common practice and is permitted by the LGPD when the destination country offers an adequate level of protection, as is the case with the providers used here.
4. Who the data is shared with
Your data is not sold or passed to third parties for marketing purposes. We share the minimum necessary with: Meta (WhatsApp Business API), to send class messages and make contact; Kiwify, the payment processor, when you buy a course or planner; and infrastructure providers (Vercel, Supabase, Google), which host the site and the database.
5. Comments on the blog and on Graded Readers
When you comment on a post, your name and the text of the comment wait for manual approval before appearing publicly. Your email is collected but never shown on the page, and is used only for contact, if necessary. Comments can be removed at any time, both by moderation and at the request of the person who commented.
6. Cookies and local storage
The site uses a session cookie (sp_session) to keep you logged in to the student area, and an equivalent cookie (sp_admin) for the teacher dashboard. When you choose the site language (Portuguese or English), we store that preference in a cookie (sp_lang) for up to one year. We do not use advertising tracking cookies and we do not share this data with ad networks.
7. Your rights
You can ask at any time for: confirmation of which of your data we hold, correction of incorrect data, deletion of your data (subject to legal retention obligations, such as the record of a signed agreement), or portability of your student data. To exercise any of these rights, just contact me on WhatsApp or at the contact email given in the agreement.
8. Changes to this policy
This page may be updated as the site grows. The date at the top always shows the latest version.
