Twelve live sessions on Saturdays at 10:30 a.m. (Brazil time) to read a classic, chapter by chapter, in a small group. At home, you listen, read and practise on the platform. In the session, you use what you read to give opinions, ask questions and disagree in English, with your pronunciation corrected live.
Starts on Saturday 31 October and ends on 30 January, with a break on 26 December and 2 January. Groups of 5 to 10 people. Sign-ups until 28 October.
Reading alone trains word recognition. Giving your opinion out loud is a different skill, and it needs someone on the other end.
In the club, every chapter ends in a conversation, with questions that ask for your opinion, not just a summary.
You recognise the word on the page, but you hesitate when you have to say it, because nobody has ever corrected you.
The chapters come with audio at two speeds for you to imitate, and I correct your pronunciation live.
With no deadline and nobody waiting for you, the book becomes the next item on a list that never moves.
Here there is one chapter a week, a group waiting for you and a fixed calendar.
A digital companion I made for this club: audio, questions, vocabulary and even an investigation game inside the book's illustrations. You open it on your phone, tablet or computer and study on your own schedule, before each session.

Each chapter in four parts with audio, at normal speed or slower, so you can imitate the pronunciation.

Comprehension and opinion questions, with model answers, so you arrive at the session ready to speak.

10 expressions per chapter, with examples, to keep in your notebook and review as flashcards.

Look for clues in the illustrations and read the case like a detective, in English.
And if you like to write, each chapter has a short writing prompt, with AI feedback.
Included in the enrolment, at no extra costThe Strange Case of Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde, by Robert Louis Stevenson, was published in 1886 and gave English the expression “a Jekyll and Hyde”, used to describe someone with two sides. It is a mystery novella with short chapters, lots of dialogue and one question that pulls you through: who is Mr Hyde?

Each chapter has four activities on the platform, which you do on your own schedule before the session. They are the same pages as the club's e-book, with audio and automatic feedback where possible.
You arrive at the session having read the chapter and with the words in your head, so you can spend the live time speaking.
The group is small on purpose: 5 to 10 people, so everyone speaks in every session. The fee covers the 12 sessions and the activities for all 10 chapters on the platform. Prices are in Brazilian reais (BRL).

I have been a private English teacher for 16 years. I have prepared students for exams such as CAE and FCE, and I make all the platform material myself, including the Book Club activities. I run every session myself.
The club is for people at B2 level or above, meaning you can already read English texts without translating line by line. If you're not sure, message me on WhatsApp and we can sort it out.
